MightyTags are more than a sticker.

MightyTags…

  • Bridge science and research as a tool to support personal development.
  • Reinforce and remind you of critical aspects of your life that bring meaning.
  • Help keep you focused for whatever’s important to YOU by keeping those ideas at the forefront of your daily life. This may include happiness, personal development, relationships, goals, aspirations, and personal achievement.
  • Are small and durable so they can be strategically and prominently placed where they will be seen by YOU. Places like your smartphone, water bottle, work badge, computer, etc.

MightyTags are inspired by the Toyota Production System (TPS) of lean manufacturing and the concepts of bringing problems and defects to light and not keeping them hidden. A key element of TPS is visual management. Over time, visual management in the workplace has been instrumental for achieving business and workplace cultural goals. MightyTags are unique not only in their roots with visual management, but also how they combine science and research principles to help individuals achieve their personal goals and aspirations.

I originally created my first tag to help remind me of a personal goal that I set at the beginning of the year. Research tells us to write out goals to increase your chances of achieving them – which I did – and dutifully taped in my closet door where I would see it every morning. That was OK. It was better than saving electronically where I risked never seeing it, but I needed a better way to keep that goal in the forefront of my conscious self. That first tag was a small piece of paper taped to the back of my mobile phone. It was basic, but effective (for me) and served as a constant reminder. MightyTags was born.

Now before you go any further, it’s important to point out that MightyTags are a tool and are meaningless without YOU! Only you can control you. Only you can change you. Only you possess the willingness to embrace the concepts of personal development. Whatever that means to YOU. A mindset and willingness to change yourself to achieve whatever it is you want to achieve, improve, or develop combined with MightyTags as the tool are a combination for success. You are the driver AND the difference maker.

About Me

During the day, I lead a team of regulatory compliance professionals at a Fortune 500 corporation. As with a lot of compliance jobs, there are a fair share of mundane technicalities (which I enjoy) but I’m also fortunate that my job involves quite a bit of visual management, persuasion and leadership – guiding my fellow colleagues to change their behavior and improve the workplace for the greater good (not just for compliance purposes). These aspects of my job have made me passionate about lean, operational excellence, and leadership.

Outside of work, life has had its share of ups and downs – just like everyone else. I do my best to savor the good times and learn from the bad. This is what has fueled my passion for personal development. I read (and listen) to books, podcasts, and various online resources whenever possible on leadership, personal development, and social sciences. My personal development centers around individuals who are committed to the sciences and support their research with data and scientific reasoning. I do my best to carry this level of detail whenever I support the reasoning behind MightyTags.

That being said, it’s not all science. I am deeply rooted in my faith and often reflect on how my faith has impacted my life and that all outcomes have purpose. I have been blessed with 4 beautiful daughters who are such an important part of my life. Along with our rescue dog, Duncan, the girls and I live in suburban Chicago.

Thank you for visiting MightyTags.
